Required Vaccinations

Our canine guests are required to be current on their annual DHPP/C, six month Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations. Our feline guests are required to be current on their annual FVRCP/C, Leukemia, FIP, and Rabies vaccinations. Feline guests must also have proof of having been tested negative for Feline Leukemia Virus. If vaccines were not administered by Mesa Veterinary Care Center, you must provide acceptable proof of current vaccination status. Any vaccinations that are due at the time of a boarding stay must be administered prior to the stay. If we need to administer vaccinations to a pet who hasn’t been examined before by one of our veterinarians, the pet must receive a physical exam at regular hospital price prior to being vaccinated. This policy is for the safety of all our guests—NO EXCEPTIONS.

Check In Procedure

At check in, a staff member will discuss with you emergency contacts, feeding instructions, health concerns, medication instructions, grooming options, and additional playtime options. This will ensure that your pet gets the proper care and attention required during his/her stay. Included with each dog guest’s stay is Hills Science Diet food, fresh water, fleece blankets, and two ten minute walks each day. Included with each cat guest’s stay is Hills Science Diet food, fresh water, fleece blankets and cuddle beds.

Illness or Emergency

One of the advantages of boarding your pet at a Veterinary Hospital is that medical attention is readily available for our guests. If your pet needs medical attention, we will call the emergency number that was given to us on admission. If we are unable to contact you, your pet will be treated as we deem necessary, at normal hospital fees. Please inform us of any previous or present allergies or medical conditions. If your pet is currently on medication, please inform the receptionist. Charges for administering medications are based on the frequency of dosages and the means of administration.

Inherent Conditions

Occasionally pets may develop problems from environmental and dietary changes. Signs may include: vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, sneezing and self-trauma such as scratching or biting their skin. We take great care so that these problems won't occur and we treat our guests promptly, if needed. However, please be aware and understand that these conditions can develop and that the hospital is not financially responsible for these inherent conditions, if they occur.

Diet & Personal Items

Our guests are welcome to bring a personal diet from home, which will be fed at no additional charge, if they require a food other than Hills Science diet. We ask that you bring only enough food to last the length of your pet’s stay and that you put the food in a Ziploc bag or plastic container. One toy can be left with your pet; however, personal blankets and bedding cannot be left due to sanitation and orderliness requirements. We are not responsible for any items if lost or soiled.

Resort Activities & Spa Services

The following optional activities are available for our guest’s enjoyment at a minimal fee:

Extra Playtime

Includes 20 extra minutes of playing with our guest (individually or with additional guests from the same family) in our enclosed grass play area, lap sitting, a peaceful stroll, or cuddling.

Spa Services

  • Full Groom with our professional groomer/stylist
  • Bath and Brush - includes pedicure and anal gland expression
  • Refresher Bath Only - recommended for any guest staying 5 days or more to ensure each guest’s comfort and hygiene.
  • Pedicure Only
  • Anal Gland Expression Only

Check Out

Every guest reacts differently to a boarding stay. Most guests are very excited to be reunited with their family. Some may want to play, while others may need to sleep. We suggest that you let your pet rest, and limit water and food intake for a few hours after going home to allow him/her to readjust to the home environment.

Abandonment

Please notify us if there is any change of plans in your pet's scheduled release date. If you do not notify us of a change in your pet's departure date and either we do not hear from you or are unable to contact you or your authorized agent for a period of 14 days after your pet's scheduled release date, Mesa Animal Hospital will consider your pet abandoned according to the animal abandonment laws in your state. Please be advised that the pet owner will be responsible for the fees accrued and any other fees or legal services incurred by Mesa Animal Hospital as a result of the abandonment.

Rates and Payment

Boarding rates are based on cage size. Payment is expected upon pick-up. A deposit is required for first time clients and extended boarding. Rates are calculated on a daily basis. Boarding is charged by the number of nights stayed, and charges are updated at closing time.
